Halloween Night in Travis Settlement
Some Travis Settlement homeowners have organized a Halloween event for next Friday Oct. 31st beginning around 6:30pm at the cul-de-sac of Cordill Lane. Volunteers are going to have hay filled trailers and predetermined stops on Cordill and nearby streets to celebrate Halloween and trick-or-treat. Kids come dressed up and ready to have some fun with arts and crafts and parents bring your chairs, beverages and a potluck snack to share.

Billboard Signs on Hwy 71
Due to a recent change in the state law we are seeing a proliferation of new Billboards on Hwy 71. At least one of these is a new sign on a property in Travis Settlement, and the ACC has notified the owner of that this is a violation. We do not expect the owner to remove this sign and therefore the new board will need to decide if this is an issue that warrants a lawsuit to attempt to have this sign removed. That still will not stop the new signs that are beginning to clutter the view along this stretch of highway. The ACC encourages you to write a letter to your state representative or state senator and ask why this is being allowed on State Highways.
